According to a study conducted by British researchers, our behavior would significantly influence the personality of our cat. If your cat is not nicer, it might be your fault. This is the conclusion of a study conducted by the Universities of Nottingham Trent and Lincoln in England.

The objective of researchers is to determine if our behavior has an impact on our feline.

If you are stressed, your cat must be, too!

The researchers analyzed 3000 cat owners, mostly British, looking for similarities between their personality and that of their four-legged companion. To fulfill this, they asked the owners about their character traits, their health, and lifestyle. The same questions were addressed, but this time about their cat.

Their conclusions were: when people suffer from stress, anxiety or anger, their cats suffer so. On the other hand, psychologically stable and healthy owners have usually cats with a calm and happy character, confirmed Slate.

As far as Mark Farnworth is concerned, a Professor at the University of Nottingham Trent, our cat's behavior could be based on our deep nature. "More and more, we are learning that the well-being of pets depends on the underlying nature of the owner, not just conscious decisions and behaviors," assenting to the Telegraph.

The cat influences our behavior, too. Based on this, our behavior influences that of our cat. Yet, our cat would also influence our behavior as well; or at least our ability to be happy.

This is the result of a poll conducted by OnePoll in 2018, comparing the daily life of dogs or cats owners to that of people without animals. Their conclusion was: having a hairball at their side would make us happier and more optimistic about our lives.

The owners of cats or dogs would be twice as likely to consider their life as successful; exercise more physical thanks to walks morning noon and night; be more likely to get married; have children and get the job of their dream. A pet would be a real lucky charm, then.
